About Me

My name is Camie. I’ve been married for 24 years to a wonderful man and I’m the mother to four amazing children. My two oldest are both at universities now. My two youngest are 18 and 13. We are a very close family and we move around due to my husband’s job. We have lived in Arizona, Utah and Washington state as well as Toronto, Canada, Arequipa, Peru and Lima, Peru.

7 years ago we became a homeschooling family and we have never looked back. Both my husband and I have become quite passionate about homeschooling. I wanted a place to share our homeschooling journey and offer encouragement to other homeschooling families out there. I could also use more homeschooling friends as we have never been supported by our extended family and we move around so much that we have only been a part of a homeschooling group once. Usually we are the only homeschooling family in our neighborhood.

I enjoy photography and reading. I am a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I’m always up for shopping. I can’t imagine a world without chocolate. I absolutely love being a wife and mother.

  2. Hi Cami! Thanks for stopping by Mothers With a Mission. I love to connect with others who homeschool. I love your story. We also have four kids–ages 21 down to 9–and except for one year of kindergarten, we have always homeschooled. We love your part of the country and have travelled through it often on our summer drives. We drive to Alaska to commercial fish in the summer and turn it into a site-seeing, homeschool adventure on the way home. Happy homeschooling and happy blogging!

  3. Hi Camie, I wanted to thank you for liking a comment of mine on another blog and to take the opportunity to check out your site as well. Homeschooling is something I wish I could have done with my sons. I have cousins who homeschooled their 5 children (now adults) and the width, breadth and depth of their knowledge is, in my opinion makes a great case study on the pros of homeschooling.

  4. As I was reading this, I was calling to my husband in the kitchen, asking him to bring me some chocolate. He said, “Peanut butter filled or blueberry?” I said, “I have to choose one or the other?” Then I read your line: I can’t imagine a world without chocolate. My husband brought me both. 🙂 Here, here, sister! 🙂
    P.S. I love homeschooling too!
